BOSTON ? Massachusetts State Police say high school students and their adult chaperones were on a charter bus after a visit to Harvard University when the bus crashed into a bridge in Boston. More than 30 people were injured.
The bus crashed Saturday night as it was passing under an overpass on Soldier's Field Road, a major crosstown road. The Destined for a Dream Foundation group was returning to the Philadelphia area.
Boston EMS says 34 people were injured. One was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and three others were seriously injured. The rest of the injuries were minor.
Authorities say the bus did not belong on the road. State Police are investigating whether charges are warranted against the driver, who apparently failed to see a sign prohibiting the vehicle from taking that route. Bus owner Raymond Talmedge said his driver was being interviewed by police.
